Wrote... Once more the denizens of the Cloud Lands are rattling their cages in anger. The shrink thing is becoming unbearable. No one, especially me (the most skeptical of the bunch), can tolerate his mind numbing form of torture much longer. In my official role of cleaner upper of messes I thought to check out the anti-psych stuff for some advice on how to tell the offending shrink that we don't appreciate him at all. We would like advise on how to put our life back together, which he so deftly disassembled and not hear him natter on continually about disability. There was no disability only confusion until a parade of shrinks became involved. I wish the alter who thinks there is a magic pill that will clear the chronic fog we live in would chill. End of rant. Thanks for having this place to come to.

You talk about the FMSF going after a commerically viable product and bascially cleaning up the back lash of repressed memory from a daughter, but you are doing the same thing. That is extremely pathetic. Come and meet my family. We have suffered through 10 years of "false memories" and have delt with enough BS from the nay sayers that do not have any experience in the issue it's disheartening. If you have never been to China would you tell someone the sights to see? Or where to stay? What to do? Get off your ass and do some of your own research. Child abuse (especially sexual) is not universally prevalent. If you are contending that most people have repressed childhood trauma, then I would suggest that your view of the world has been terribly skewed by the recovered memory belief system. There is simply no evidence that your belief is fact.

I have also co-edited (with Mick Cooper) a book entitled *The Plural Self* (Sage 1999) containing essays by psychologists, anthropologists, philosophers, psychiatrists and so forth all suggesting that multiplicity is baseline, is normal. A single solitary self is unusual. This is serious academic stuff.

Likes Best:	The fact that you dared to voice an opinion that was different from the norm, and it has now become a commonly held view. You changed the world, guys. You continue to open people's eyes to a new concept every day. It's exciting to watch. We have nothing but respect for all you have done and continue to do.
Wants to See:	I would like to see a world where people no longer feel threatened by new ideas. I would like to see a world where people aren't nailed to trees for saying we should all be nice to each other for a change. I would like to see a world where someone could say "Oh, by the way, I'm a multiple," to anyone they might meet in the street, and it would be just as acceptable as saying, "oh, by the way, I'm gay," or whatever. I guess I'm a dreamer...
