There are many social Codes across the net, including the Geek Code, the Gryphon Code, the Goth Code, and the Dragon Code. They are aimed at communicating a lot of info in a short block of letters, numbers and symbols.
Feeling that Multiples/Hosts, of all people, needed to be able to condense an incredible amount of information into a small amount of space (and realizing it was completely impossible and probably amusing), The Consortium took it upon themselves in 2001 to create a Multiple Code (MultiCode or MuC).
They wish to thank the creators of the Geek Code, GryphCode and the Dragon Code, from which inspiration was drawn.
The MuC, like most Codes, is meant to be used in signatures for e-mail, newsgroups or messageboards, and also on webpages, or just whenever you want!
Any tag in which system opinion varies can be divided with a distribution tag. A distribution tag is contained in parantheses after the tag designation, and opinion is shown with a backslash.
Universal Modifiers:
You can also always be more specific or add something to a tag not covered by the Code by putting it in "quotes"; just keep in mind it lengthens the code considerably.
If you feel a tag doesn't apply to you, you can always just leave it out. :)
Please keep in mind this is a beta version, and therefore it will probably change a lot at first!
