and How to Engage With Them

The most important thing to remember is that WE THE PEOPLE can do something. We do not just have to sit by while our rights are systematically whittled away. Since before the September 11 attacks, America has been rapidly becoming a police state. Ordinary citizens are under massive surveillance without realizing it. But we also have the means to survive and challenge the dominant culture and its narrative. The implications of the smartphone with its movie camera and ability to upload instantly to free public video archives are just now beginning to be realized.

All you need is the WILL to ACT. Don't just sit there reading this thinking that "someone else" will do something. BE SOMEONE ELSE. Make the phone call, write the email, make the video. If nothing else, sign the online petition and send money. If you can, become active in everyday, physical, experiential life. Join a community group, engage in peaceful protest. There are community action groups forming now to protect vulnerable and targeted groups and save the environment.

Don't know who to reach out to? Here we have links to media sources that will give you an alternative point of view to what's going on.....you'll find useful information and perspectives on the aftermath of the 2016 election that you won't be seeing or reading on CNN or in USA Today.

b It seems essential, now more than ever, for us all to be as well informed as we possibly can about what is happening in this country and abroad in the wake of the events of 2016.

Autism - A Free Speech Issue

Resources by and for autistic-spectrum people. Don't fall for disempowering bullshit from Auti$m $peaks - come here and speak (or type) for yourself. Learn about autism from people who are #ActuallyAutistic. As Amanda Baggs once wrote, "How We Are Silenced: Either we can't speak, in which case the autism establishment claims the right to speak for us, or, We can speak, in which case we're told that we're "privileged" and therefore have no right to speak for ourselves. The word that comes to mind is "bullshit". They simply want to maintain control."
